Smoke saunas

The saunas where I mostly work.

I work as a travelling sauna woman across Estonia. Below are the saunas where I most often welcome guests. On request, I can also come to your own sauna.

Vana-Kaasiku Suitsupääsu village smoke sauna

A smoke sauna that gathers a whole village into its embrace. It welcomes you warmly with a spacious room and two large stone heaters. To cool down you can swim in the sky-blue pond, and to rest there is room to lie on the wide terrace or by the fire in the tea cabin.

What guests say

At Vana-Kaasiku smoke sauna the starry sky and steaming bodies meet. Sun and moon sing old runic songs on the sauna bench, backs blackened by the sauna walls cool in the gentle pond water. In this sauna naked souls are washed clean and weary bones find relief. If the steam itself has not yet cleansed you, then the story shared on the upper bench, the sauna woman's tender whisk, or a friend's voice through the window surely will. A truly genuine, life-giving experience, charged with the primal force of nature.

— Maari Soekov

Vana-Kaasiku is simply such a good place to be — there is complete peace and flow. The smoke sauna always holds and carries you. The sauna itself is wonderfully spacious, with room for many good souls. There is space to cool off in the anteroom, outside in the fresh air, or in the pond in front of the sauna. Everything is there — you just have to come and let the sauna and the place do their magic.

— Triinu Hansen

In this wonderful smoke sauna I have experienced both the light, homely “village sauna” with song and laughter and a quiet, soft, inward embrace. You can experience everything there!

— Krõõt Saar

In the calm, primal rhythm of the Vana-Kaasiku smoke sauna, the sense of time disappears. The senses awaken, as if you have been cleansed from within. A deeply grounding experience.

Ärni smoke sauna

Ärni smoke sauna is a sauna of its own kind with a long history, tucked into the worthy nature of Võrumaa. Today the sauna has a chimney and a stove with a cabinet heater and damper, yet the walls are still black and during heating some smoke still presses into the steam room. Right next to the sauna is a spring-fed lake for cooling off, and a tea house for changing and resting.

What guests say

An old log sauna; right here mighty oaks rise together with a pond veiled in evening mist, creating a magical whole where everything is perfect to the last detail.

— Guido Tamm

Old and authentic — a slightly hunched sauna with small windows, smoked black inside. It holds its guests as if in a cosy embrace. Outside there is room to lounge on the grass, supported by large old trees, and one huge boulder for taking flight. The whole Ärni surroundings gently support the sauna ritual as well as tuning in and grounding — the sauna house and pond in the midst of pure nature, a cosy tea house and outdoor kitchen for grounding, refreshment and eating.

— Boris Ümarik

The place is magical: a beautiful lake, a very cosy tea house, trees all around... Very peaceful.

— Ana González

In the Ärni sauna you can step outside the usual dimensions of time and space and simply be — relax in the heat and become clean.
